Artist Spotlight: Jack Vettriano

The Man They Call The Nations Most Successful Living Artist

"I paint what moves me...sexiness.." March 2008 Jack Vettriano

His prints outsell the likes of Klimt & Monet

He has long viewed his life, though, as a second chance – that he rescued himself in the nick of time as he was slipping into a kind of living death with his job and his mortgage and his marriage. He says he's now living a life many men envy

The women in his paintings are idealised, impeccably groomed, sexually confident creatures. A lot of women love them, and they clearly also love him
I have only been to The Hamptons once.. but it wasn't the sort of experience you read about in magazines of high society. It involved mostly driving and stopping at a shore side seafood stand..a BYOB type of place that served fried clams in paper buckets. It is where my oldest son Logan first saw the ocean at 1 yr old.. that was also the trip where I went to Boston for the first time and toured Harvard University. In my imagination however I have been to The Hamptons many times through the paintings of Jack Vettriano who epitomizes the sleek, rich, fullness of fine living. Beautiful people doing fabulous things. When I look at his work it makes me want to put on the pearls and little black dress...I think of moonlight reflections and falling in love..I just purchased a print of Waltzers which will have a place in my bedroom. I love an artist who can transform you to another place in another time with his work....and turn you on all at the same time.
