What Moves Me

I came across this blog through the Pioneer Woman, Ree's blog is fantastic and during the Blogher conference she posted a video that has moved me like few things have...it truly speaks for itself ...I am reposting the text as well. I love Grace's blog, have been reading it for a week now..it is an edited version of her post Forgiveness where it belongs.

October

  • The Weather has finally turned & there is a chill in the air!! How wonderful after our 10th hottest Summer on record!! I am enjoying it very much and how it is here to stay...something about throwing the doors and windows open in the morning and airing out a home closed up all Summer is very rejuvinating and I have to admit is leaving me restless to get out and do something..anything outside!!....On a side note I quit smoking today and made friends with Nicorette fruit chew gum.....I have also vowed to cut out a few things that aren't doing me any good either..more on that later...It is just time, I have a new life begining now and I have got to step up to the plate and take care of myself better in all ways...I have such a wonderful family I love so much and want to be around as long as possible!! Tomorrow is Monday again ...followed by a Tuesday off work.....a date day filled with special time doing whatnots...breakfast, a movie, a little shopping....a walk....fun stuff....October is my favorite month....not because I turn 36 on the 29th...or because my wedding anniversary was on my b-day....nope its the signal of a turn in the seasons and Halloween!!! The boys have there costumes ready to go...black spiderman for Jake....stormtrooper for Nick.....Army guy for Logan....as for me and Charlie...well not sure ...but I am excited for a lot of things this month...Here is what is inspiring me this month:
  • candyapples....fall cakes....chillis...soups and stews....All the things I wasn't into making during the hot Summertime....Speaking of recipes The best Sesame Noodles ever & Quessadillas...Tres Leche Cake.....Blue Cheese & Onion Sauce for Steak....Ribs & Baked Beans...Literally everything I have been cooking for the last month I have found on over at The Pioneer Woman....I love Ree's blog and the food is divine!!
  • Organizing and getting the house ready for the holidays....I am starting to really feel at home now...I am looking forward to settling in even more...
  • Scary Movies...even though I am the only one who watches them!!
  • Soccer and time spent outdoors...sweaters...blankets...and camping!
What is inspiring you?????

Mondays Moments & Inspirations

What a month it has been, the boys are back to school and it is in full swing!! A trip out to Nebraska to visit my family was divine and the time spent with my mother and sister wonderful...It has been quite a month full of ups and downs...on this last day in August I have peace finally (well almost) in my heart and my mind. Most of all I have once again found faith and strength and I almost feel as if I am ready to start a new life with my beautiful family .....Here is what we've been up to and what is inspring me this week....Taking photos of Hummel Park in Nebraska, one of the most haunted frightening places in the US. Loving being spoiled by my grandmother just like I was a little girl all over again. Making memories with a fantastic Banana-Carrot Cake for Charlie's Birthday that was to die for (really)! Staring to feel like fall I am thinking pastas and pumpkins...Halloween parties and costumes for the boys...loving the fact that we will be spending the first week of the month in San Fransisco and that there is so much to look forward to! This fall it will be all about working around the home getting settled and things in place..I am so thankful for my loving and beautiful family, together we can overcome anything and are stronger now than I ever imagined......There has been a lot of hugs lately...a lot of tears...a lot of little molments and a lot of laughter!

Happy Birthday Jake!

One of my first memories of you was how much of a little man you were even as a tiny baby. You were born as handsome as could be. I remember the first night I brought you home from the hospital laying in bed and listening to all of your little noises as you lay next to me in your bassinet. How you slept like a big boy with me in my huge bed or on my chest when you were just a tiny little thing, how you came into my already blessed life and with it brought so much happiness and joy to me and your brothers. Oh how you looked at your brothers and stared at their silly faces and endured the many times they carried you around like a rag doll much to my dismay! Even when you and Nicholas can get fed up with one another when you are each away from one another all you do is wonder where the other one is...Here you are marvelous at three years old! You and I have been through a lot this past year and it has brought us so close as a family. You have my long legs and the light hair I once had and are getting more handsome by the day. You have a great arm, throw a mean baseball and basketball and kick a soccerball like no other three year old I have seen, and I am not the only one who thinks that!! I love reading books to you, helping you put together your trains, stopping on the way home from preschool for a drink at the fountain (every day) even though it takes ten minutes. Your love of salsa and chips, how you just found your way up onto my many kitchen countertops, which I am sure to you must look massive and took quite a bit of bravery to get on top of the kitchen trash can and push yourself up there. I love the way you eat a cupcake, how excited you were for "presents" and how you wore your birthday hat around for a week prior and didn't want it on for your actual birthday! Instead you wanted a Mickey Mouse Hat which was impossible to find here where we are my little man but is a good excuse to get us back to Disneyland sooner than I had planned! I hear a lot of "I'll do it" and "Leave me alone" as you follow me around the house. In the times where I am in another room I am always wondering what it is you are doing! Especially if it is quiet!! How you danced in your seat when I brought you to the Circus for your special day. How you sneak into my bed at night and I seem to sleep so much better knowing you are close by. Goodnight Sweet Prince ....lets go lay down and read Tom & Jerry again and you can ask as many questions as you like ..it's okay ....I love you like nothing else. Happy birthday Jakey Bird.
