There's the new home & then theres the closet~~
A new home filled with the laughter & chaos that only a family can bring to it. With it comes new hiding places, new comfortable nooks for everyone and a lot more space. Unfortunately that doesn't mean for my closet. It is a daunting task, organizing ones closet. The rule that if I haven't worn it in over a year (has it really been that long) or I am holding onto it because that white dress I was wearing when I.....rule.....all go out the window when in the depths of clothing up to your elbows. I have decided out with the small in with the what fits. For what ever reason that means that within the last year half of my wardrobe is going into bags....going off to live a life with someone else...cute things they were and in it's place new beginings and a closet that is waiting for the new adventures and lives I will lead this Summer....maybe a pretty new swimsuit or a floppy hat will take there new places next to the cowboy boots never worn or the disco dress that looked great on my mother in the 80's...yes I have long way to go in there and I have taken the first few babysteps this evening.....here are a few inspiring things that are getting me motivated and heading in the right direction...satin bags with drawstrings for my shoes in bold colors ...I am thinking red....closet organizers seem like a good project for a beginner just starting to sew and this is right up my alley...I can already imagine my jewelry my hose my socks all tucked neatly into the little pockets of a pretty pink organized of various sizes taking their place on the unfinished wooden hangers I cherish which still show a light shade of robin egg blue from many years back...these darling hanging tags for the boys, especially Jake & Nicks as I have 11 years of clothes I hang onto what a neat way to organize the sizes for little ones who share a closet...courtesy of Nicole's Spot.
